A Filipina, Merna, arrives in the US to join her husband Mario, a doctor, after  four years of being apart - only to find him dead, a suicide.  With the help of Mario's diary and what she remembers of the man she still loves, she reconstructs his life and in the process, discovers how love transcends physical distance, time and social convention.
