Veils

Playwright: Joe Byers

A Middle Eastern city. Late night. No moon. A seedy one-room apartment. Naked light bulb. Occasional bursts of artillery fire outside. A nervy, blustering, very drunk young American GI, Rusty. A slim young veiled person, Aliya. This is Aliya's room, and they are here for sex. They’re both inexperienced. They’re awkward, the conversation, protracted.  But before this evening is over,  two human beings will embark on a journey that will transform their lives forever.
